About us

Romanian Journal of European Affairs (RJEA) is the first Romanian publication to focus exclusively on the European integration debate and on Romania's role in an enlarged European Union. Issued on a quarterly basis, the journal is largely distributed both in Romania and in prestigious universities and research centres in Europe and USA.

The journal covers a wide range of topics, from top issues in EU (institutional building, economic and monetary affairs, internal market, energy, migration, security etc.) to the effects of the European integration process on the new member states (with a particular focus on Romania) and to the investigation of EU's relations with other global actors.

The journal benefits from the contribution of an Editorial Board of prestigiuos specialists in international relations and European integration. The editors warmly welcome contributions from foreign authors, relying upon high scientific standards. Each article is accompanied by an abstract and a short biographic note of the author, and the languages accepted are English or French.

Starting with 2007 the Journal has been scientifically evaluated by the National University Research Council (RO - CNCSIS) as "B+" category.

The recognition of the positive role of RJEA within the European debates has also been confirmed by its introduction in various specialised European integration databases, such as: ICAAP - International Consortium for the Advancement of Academic Publications, Index Copernicus, The Knowledge Base Social Sciences in Eastern Europe, Gesis, Open J-Gate, Intute, DOAJ - Directory of Open Access Journals, SSRN - Social Science Research Network, Eurointernet.

Articles of the Romanian Journal of European Affairs are indexed in World Affairs Online (WAO), accessable via the portal IREON.

Starting with its first number in 2010 (Volume 10, no.1/2010), the journal has been included in the ProQuest database.

Starting with 2011 the journal is included in the international databases SCOPUS, EBSCOHeinOnline and Cabell's Directory.
